As well as reading the
newspapers back home, or catching up with events from your
favourite TV channel, the option of checking on local news
(depending which country you are in), can also be helpful.
For example, before travelling to a
specific country, you may want to catch-up with events in that part
of the world. Not all important news is reported back in the UK. So
it may well be prudent to read the news from your intended
destination before leaving the country. It may not cause you to
change your plans, but it may help you to take additional
precautions before travelling.
