| The
weather can make or break a holiday. It can even cause difficulties
to other forms of travel as well.
One constant problem
with weather forecasts is the contrast in expectations from
different commentators. For example, one forecaster on one TV
channel may say one thing, another on a different channel may say
something else. Then there is the discrepancy between national and
regional forecasts. Sometimes we are non the wiser to know what is
going to happen, even within the next 24 hours. What is even more
exasperating at times is the fact that different forecasts are based
on the same information. Sometimes, it's a bit like trying to decide
who will win a closely-handicapped horse race.
Diversity is the
only real answer to this conundrum. Pick out several sources and see
who agree the most about the type of weather you are likely to get
in your part of the world. See who 'tips' the most popular outcome
and that will be the 'favourite'. of course, favourites may not
always win races, but they earn their place in the market by being
considered the most likely winner.
One source in
particular which caught our eye is weather.com. This website works
in unison with Yahoo and is a very good source of information. They
will even give information on mosquito activity.
Other sources
present information dependent upon requirement such as more
localised information and long-range forecasts.
